I am enjoying moulding the symbolic ornaments which will be hung on the wooden tree. The wooden structure will be wrapped with some sort of leaves before the painted symbols get hung!

Blue.

Blue is a pool on a hot summer's day,
Blue is the sky that steals your breath away.
Blue is for when you're down and sad,
Blue can cheer you up and make you glad.
Blue is for emotion , filled with bliss,
Blue reminds about friends you miss.
Blue stands for love, joy and trust,
Blue is something that's in all of us.

Latest hair creation!

Photobucket

She does Hair is a blog that inspires me to be creative with my daughter's hair. OKAY so she does battle with the sitting still part and not moaning........ but I think I may have found a way to stop all that ! I sit her infront of the TV with an edible treat!

She's well behaved ........well at least for 15-20 mins!

Update on Mosaic Mirror .....

Photobucket

Have a wonderful weekend..... Thanks to all my friends that are praying for MrGee. The hospital has suggested he goes for a Dialysis lecture quite soon. Tests show he has way to much Urea in his blood.

Mosaic Chess Table

I really enjoyed making this mosaic piece of furniture. Perhaps because I know it is going to be used .............. ALOT! My boys just love chess. I chose the colours to match my lounge.

PhotobucketI just have to sand and varnish the wood , and then it will be totally complete!TanziPanzi did her first proper craft project today. It was looking SO pretty..... and then I think she smudged the black eye paint onto the wing. She said, "I decided to make a duck with a broken wing."
PhotobucketI suppose she's using artistic licence at the age of 4! (hehehe)Good night friends...... I'm off to dinner at my favourite restaurant with my favourite man!

What am I gonna do Mom?

WizzKid is good at many things but at art he is bad, an' I mean really bad!!!!
This last week he was asked to draw a poster informing people what to do in the event of any natural disaster. He chose to do it on Tsunamis.
He came walking to the car with a very worried look upon his mug. "Mom, I don't know what I'm gonna do. I have to draw a poster and I don't think I can do it!"
As we drove home from school I reassured him that I would teach him how to create a poster that required very little drawing at all.
We spoke about the 3 elements(wave, buildings, hills) that were needed in the poster, and he assigned the colours. All he needed to draw were the rectangular windows. I wrote the heading, and he inked it in.

Portrait of Mother.

Twinkle wanted to do the activity I had created for the "Home of Love" kids. She coloured in the different facial parts, cut them out and stuck them onto the oval-shaped face. Then she added a hat and declared " This looks just like mom, but I must give her some hair!" She added the pink and blue hair and said, "Yip, this is now Mom!"
Photobucket
I asked why I had been stabbed on each cheek? "Awww Maaarm, that is your beautiful make-up!" (oki-doki)
See any resemblance?

She Does Hair.

About a week ago I came across a wonderful blog owned by a very clever mom called BlackEyedSue. Her space on the blogasphere -SHE DOES HAIR- is predominately dedicated to the creation of beautiful hairstyles for the girly-girl. She is SO creative and I am so inspired!
Photobucket
Twinkle loves the finished look, but keeping her still during the process(30 -40 mins) has proved to be quite something!

Great for Fine Motor Skills!

I can't take credit for this idea, and I can't even give credit, as I honestly cannot remember where I saw this!

Photobucket
I made these for the "Home of Love" preschool. Tanzi had the first go ............

It's a wonderful hands on activity that helps with fine motor skills.

Bird Feeder of Note!

All the Grade 4's were told they had to design and make a bird feeder. They were not allowed to spend more than R10.00($1.50). We managed to find everything we needed at home and not a penny was spent! Here's the proud owner of a bright and beautiful bird feeder.......
