I just love this tongue in the cheek poem about History written by CoolDude. (10 years)
No More Please!!
History, people say it's a mystery.
I wonder why it makes me cry ?
When most of the people sadly die!
Columbus, Franklin and Roosevelt too,
so much to learn about when you review.
Genghis and Kublai the ones who would cube ya,
Make our poor leader look like a drooler!
I've read too much I now have a stitch,
anymore and I might just ditch!
A place to share our creativity. A little bit of this ...... a little bit of that ...... but a WHOLE LOT OF FUN!

Description of a Zebra
The prettiest animal is a zebra. Black stripes run down it's body and it has the cleanest fur on an animal. It's legs are so strong you don't want to be behind it when it kicks! It's eyes glimmer in the daylight like polished diamonds. It's tail is like a fury jersey and it's mane runs free in the air .... it goes everywhere.(Cooldude wanted to say .... "like your girlfriends long hair!" hehehe) It's gallop is so peaceful, you will fall asleep. The Zebra's eyelashes are so huge they could catch bugs. Last but not least, it's teeth are so big, the zebra considers an apple to be a mere crumb!

WizzKid's latest poem......
The Race.
Nervously I stand behind the block
One whistle, two whistles and I’m on top
For a moment the world seems to freeze
Then the 3rd whistle causes the silence to cease
High over the glass water I soar
For a second it’s still and nothing more
With a minute splash I’m engulfed in
Under the water I stay as straight as a pin
As fast as I can, I race to the end
The crowd goes wild as I writhe and bend
Closer and closer to the wall I come
My legs and my arms start to go numb
The checkered flags rush up to greet me
Victory in my mouth tastes sweetly
I touch the wall and I cant swim on
But I don’t have to because I’VE WON.
.
(I gave him the choice to write a short story or a poem ..... he immediately said he would do a poem...... and within 15 minutes he was complete!)

Crafting away .........
Early yesterday evening Miss Tanzi came to me and asked ...... "PLEEEEESE can we make something together?" Being the crafty type, I like to keep the odd thing or two stored in the cupboard just in case I feel inspired ! So I pulled out some very inexpensive wooden photo frames and some left over mosaic tiles ........ and we started creating together.

Within an hour or so we had created four pretty frames and Miss Tanzi was extremely proud of her produce. She chose the colours and the placement of them.

The Weirdest Dream.
Last night I had the weirdest dream EVER! I was a lollipop man in the middle of the road. All of a sudden I saw the funniest looking cars coming towards me. Some had spikes for wheels, others had giant missile turrets and others had long treads. But wait there was more. A gigantic monster truck was headed straight at me! I really wanted to run, but I couldn't .... my feet were glued to the floor! Then I realized I had a stop sign. I held it up high but the cars kept coming! Then I looked at the sign I was holding, it didn't say STOP it said GO !! Luckily I had a pen. I tried to draw but it wouldn't work! The cars got closer and closer. So I just said " LORD TAKE ME NOW." The cars hit and I felt a huge thump! I woke up and found my baby sister jumping on me. I felt a whole lot better.

Read all about it !!!!
WizzKid's History challenge for the last three weeks has been to "publish" a newspaper. The format of the paper could be modern, but the content had to be about life in the Americas during the mid-18th Century. I did hear a few ..... "This is ALOT of work Mom!" and "Finding the right info is really hard!"

WizzKid sourced all the info and wrote all the articles. He included News, Entertainment, Sport, Classifieds, Weather, Obituaries and Cartoons. When it was all done WizzKid said he had enjoyed the whole process but was glad it was complete! Hope you all enjoy his first publication!

The start of Tanzi's Bedroom makeover.
I love to be creative ....... it may be to blog, sew, paint, mosaic, or just create new hairstyles in Tanzi's hair but as long as I am making or doing something with my hands ...... I AM VERY HAPPY! At the moment I am doing up Tanzi's bedroom.Thank goodness MrGee was not home tonight, because he wouldn't have been too happy about the painting being done on our dining room table.(Sorreeeeee babes!) But I did need a lot of space! (Forgiven?)

I am happy so far!
Cooldude was eager to help with the painting of the mirror ........
And so I started the wall paintings for Miss Tanzi's bedroom.

Aboriginal Art!
We are learning about Australia in Sonlight Core 5. This week the boys had to do a "Choose Your Adventure" project. CoolDude decided to reproduce a painting done by a well known aboriginal artist.

He loved doing this task and really put a lot of effort into it. I think it's worthy of being framed and hung in his room!

A Place to belong (by WizzKid-13 yrs)
In 8th grade I learnt that high school was not what I thought it would be. My head was filled with dreams, like choosing only my favourite subjects, having all my friends around me and not doing much work.
Well, these last four weeks have been a vicious wake up call. All our subjects are pre-chosen until grade 10. There is an unbelievable amount of work and my friends are all in different classes. These are not the worst parts, many of the boys at the school are just plain disgusting. They talk horrendously about girls and the swearing is unbearable. Coming from a Christian family, I can’t identify with most of them. The ones who have been to church and claim to be Christians, are the ones who have the worst morals! They live like the rest of the world and try to be Christians at the same time. I am struggling to maintain my own morals. I feel that the only thing the boys are interested in doing is bringing each other down.
My attitude will remain positive and I’ll push through. I refuse to live like them. I refuse to live like the world. For in James 4:4 it says “Whoever makes himself a friend of the world, makes himself an enemy of God.”
God wants me here, to be a good influence in this school. So in a way, God has shown me……….A place to belong.
